Services We Provide

Stride / Harmony provides overall body treatment to improve the health and well being of your equine companions.  Using a combination of massage therapy techniques, along with the complimentary healing of Reiki, we work to relieve tension, stress and soreness in your horse.

If you are experiencing any of the following, you may benefit from our services:

  • Lameness
  • Short choppy strides
  • Refusing to perform or maintain an activity
  • Sore back
  • Stiffness, unwillingness to bend to the left or right
  • Problems during transitions
  • Tripping and stumbling
  • Change in demeanor
  • Soft tissue inflammation
  • Stress
  • Poor performance

If I feel your horse requires more than I can give, I will tell you, as soon as I know.  I will not knowingly do anything detrimental to the health and safety of your horse.

How often should I consider treatments?

One can't have too many massages, you can determine with Stride / Harmony the appropriate interval for your horse's individual needs and your finances.  However, consider the following guidelines:
  • For pre-show or event schedules, one to two days before the actual event
  • For recovery, schedule one to two days after a hard workout or event
  • For injury, consider at least 2-3 sessions no more than a week apart, depending on the severity
  • For prevention and maintainence, at least once per 6 weeks

How long does a treatment last, and what are the costs?

Initially I like to spend at least an hour to an hour and a half with a new client.  This lets me get to know you and your horse, as well as any specific details I should know about your horse.  Subsequent visits usually take 45 minutes to an hour, but may be longer if your horse needs it.

I do not charge an hourly rate.  I prefer to take the time the horse needs, without the added distraction of clock watching.  Currently, my rates are as follows:

For one horse - $50
For two or more horses at the same site, on the same night - $45/horse

Travel expenses - within half an hour of my home, no charge.  For up to an hour away from my home, I charge an additional $5 per horse.  For over an hour travel time, contact me and we'll discuss a rate.  I live just south of Fergus, ON.
